All Are Welcome Here

We are an Episcopal community that values inclusiveness, compassion, and faith. Visitors to St. Peter's recognize that our church is a place of warm hospitality.

We are blessed by parishioners - longtime to recently joined - who actively participate in the life of St. Peter's and support it as a spiritual home and church family for all.

What to Expect

Whether you're seeking a church home or visiting the Buzzards Bay area for a short stay, please know that St. Peter's welcomes you.

We know that stepping into a new place of worship for the first time may feel uncertain. You may have questions. Where will I sit? How do I follow along with the service? May I receive Holy Communion if I'm not an Episcopalian? What happens after the church service ends?

Navigating Our Church

Everyone at St. Peter's was a new visitor at one time. We've put together a few guidelines to help you acclimate and be comfortable here. Above all, we hope that you find St. Peter's to be a welcoming place. All are welcome here.

Driving

We're located at 165 Main Street in Buzzards Bay. Click here for driving directions. Ample parking is available at the front and back entries. A ramp for handicapped accessibility and dedicated handicapped parking spaces are available at the back of the building.

Arriving

Our sanctuary offers quiet place for reflection and prayer prior to our Sunday morning services. You'll find some worshipers arriving early, while others are seated a few minutes before our services begin. When you enter the sanctuary, you'll be greeted by an usher who will provide you with a leaflet that details the specifics of the service. There are no assigned seats and you're encouraged to choose any pew you'd like.

Worshiping

St. Peter's hosts two services of Holy Eucharist on Sundays. Rite I is celebrated at 8:00 a.m. and Rite II at 10:00 a.m. Children are valued as an important part of our church family and are encouraged to attend services. At St. Peter's everyone is welcome to receive Holy Communion, whether or not they are Episcopalian. Our 10:00 service features a range of music, including hymnschoir-led anthems, and vocal and instrumental offerings by musicians of our congregation.

Fellowship

At the conclusion of our 10:00 service, you'll be greeted at the back of the church by our clergy. We encourage all visitors to "turn left" as they leave the sanctuary and stop by our Parish Hall for coffee hour. There, you'll meet our parishioners and have the opportunity to find out more about what makes St. Peter's a special place.
